Zara Floral Skirt with BLK DNM Biker Jacket

Happy New Year 2017 everybody! It is the start of the New Year 2017! I thank all my neighbors that have been with Rekaystyle the past year and even beyond that.
I hope all my readers have the best of the New Year 2017. I hope we can put back our disappointments and losses to start the New Year with optimistic and healthy hearts!

The first daily look of the New Year by fashion blogger Rekaystyle is a winter midi skirt look with Zara’s botanical floral print skirt. In the winter, I have a tendency to reach out for simple solids rather than prints but I felt like I would fall into dark chaos so I chose a fresh and lively floral print skirt. It is a great way to wear a pattern skirt in the winter season without being awkward! Meet it as a daily look at Rekaystyle!

Just the right time, I found this floral pattern skirt at Zara. There is a great color palette for the prints that are put upon the thick winter material that is just for the season. The harmony of yellow and green on a black background adds liveliness despite the cold weather. The length that covers your knees and pin tuck at the bottom adds a bit of volume that does not make you look cold. It is on season sale at Zara right now.

It is also great to use your floral skirt from summer. Instead, the background color should be darker to look just right for the season. If it is a light material like chiffon, it would also be great as a layered look by wearing jeans inside. If you’re too lazy to do any thing, you could coordinate a pair of boots like Rekay (giving up your leg line). Then wearing any skirt can make it look like winter.

Since it is a skirt that has a paperbag waist design and strap that makes you tuck your top inside, I coordinated it with a tight knit top that fits the background color of the skirt. Since the point of the whole look is the pattern of the skirt, it is best to reduce the use of other colors and unify the colors as much as possible. In addition, it has to support the volume of the skirt slimly so that you don’t look too puffy.

As my outer, I chose BLK DNM’s suede rider jacket with padding inside. It would be a more ladylike look if you coordinated it with a A-line long coat that looks like it is tied at the waist. I made the overall style easier and more casual with the mannish and funky jacket that contrasts with the feminine floral pattern.

In a style that emphasizes the waist, it is best to add a short top/outer that matches your waistline. It makes a body portion that is more stable. This also makes you look taller. Other than a skimpy line, just go short! Or match it with a similar looking waist tight or outer that is tied around the waist.
